The February 2011 Flood
Sometime during the second week of February, Bethel’s water pipes froze and caused a major water leak that flooded the Fellowship Hall, Sunday School Classrooms, hallways and pastor’s office. Interestingly, the waters stopped at the threshold of the sanctuary.
As of February 21, the paneling and carpet have been removed and things are beginning to dry out.
Here are the broken pipes. The PVC was located outside the building and was responsible for the water that ran down the lawn and across the street. The half-inch copper pipe caused the indoor flooding that resulted in water running under the door into the parking lot and yard.
Please pray as the process continues and decisions are made about reconstruction.
Update (5/5/11)
All of the paneling in the Fellowship Hall, Sunday School Classrooms, and Hallways have been removed. The drying process is complete. Air movers were removed earlier this week. As paneling and some of the sheetrock was removed, more problems were discovered which were not related to the flood.
Right now, we are soliciting help with reconstruction plans and covet your prayers.
Update (4/13/11)
Thanks to the help of some volunteers from North Side Baptist Church, we will finally begin the rebuilding process! They will arrive on Monday, 4/18 and should be finished with their work before Good Friday. All that should remain is tape/bed/texture/paint and replacing the carpet. God is so good to provide the workers!

In the coming days, the paint will be on the walls! We have already chosen the carpet, which should be installed in the next few weeks!
Update (7/3/11)
We arrived to church this morning to find new sights and smells. New carpet and doors were in every room. This week, we’ll have the pews bolted in a diagonal arrangement with a little more leg room and some more surprises. We had a great business meeting with lots of laughs. (We’re not a typical Baptist Church!)
One of our senior ladies said it’s a new beginning. Pastor Craig agrees and calls it “BBC 2.0″.
It’s a new day that the Lord has made! We get to rejoice and be glad in it!

We will celebrate our “Grand Re-Opening” on March 4, 2012. Come stop by to meet us and see our “new” building!
